Become a Girls Go STEM
Teacher Ambassador!

Discover how you can make an impact, connect with fellow educators, and grow professionally. Here’s everything you need to know.

What is it all about?

The Teacher Ambassadors Programme is a unique, year-long opportunity for passionate teachers to collaborate closely with the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) Community and play a key role in advancing education across Europe.

In particular, we are calling all educators who have already used the Circular Learning Space, the platform hosting the courses of the Girls Go STEM programme, to become Teacher Ambassadors and help spread the word about it.

Ambassadors will represent Girls Go STEM at events, help foster a vibrant teacher community, contribute to peer training, and improve the initiative through their fresh ideas. They will also get the chance to enhance their leadership and teaching skills with tailored professional development workshops.

During their mandate, ambassadors are expected to dedicate around 4 hours per month to their role and attend at least one in-person event in a European country with travel expenses fully covered by Girls Go STEM.

Who is it for?

We’re looking for enthusiastic educators who are ready to inspire others to join the Girls Go STEM movement. If you are:

A working secondary school or iVET school teacher (teaching 14–19 year old students)

Motivated to inspire fellow teachers and grow the Girls Go STEM community

Willing to take part in professional training, both as a learner and as a trainer

Supported by your school management to take part

Confident communicating in English

Already using the Circular Learning Space

… then this opportunity is for you!

Applications are open until 7 September 2026 – 13:00 CET.

  • Results: 30 September 2026
  • Kick-off: October 2026
  • Mandate: until July 2027

Before submitting your application through the form at the bottom of the page, we invite you to learn more about how ambassadors are selected, the benefits they receive, and the key responsibilities of their role.

What are the selection criteria?

We are looking for teachers who are passionate about youth education and ready to go the extra mile to drive positive change. To ensure a rich variety of perspectives in the cohort, the selection process prioritises diversity in teacher profiles, considering factors such as country of origin, gender, age, and teaching subjects, among others.

Motivation & Ambition

We’re looking for teachers who are excited about making an impact, empowering others, and rethinking traditional education methods for the benefit of both students and educators. Enthusiasm for digital tools and educational innovation is essential.

Strong Communication Skills

Ambassadors should be able to express ideas clearly and confidently in English and engage with diverse audiences. Proficiency in other European languages and regular active use of social media will be considered a plus.

Experience & Knowledge

Applicants must actively teach in a secondary or iVET school throughout the one-year mandate. Experience in initiatives that improve school environments, introduce innovative teaching methods, or enhance curricula for 21st-century skills will be highly valued.

Alignment with the Initiative’s Mission

In line with the programme’s mission, we value a genuine dedication to inspiring young people, particularly girls, to pursue careers in STEM/ICT, entrepreneurship or sustainability.

What are the roles and responsibilities of an Ambassador?

Promoter

Raise awareness of the Girls Go STEM initiative within your school and community. Encourage students and fellow teachers to get involved, identify local and national events where you could present the programme, and share news and opportunities through your social media channels.

Trainer

As a certified Girls Go STEM trainer, share your expertise and empower other educators by organising online or in-person training sessions. Each ambassador commits to training at least 7 teachers throughout their mandate.

Connector

Support the creation and facilitation of Girls Go STEM teacher groups in your country, and offer guidance and encouragement to fellow teachers. As an ambassador, you will also act as a bridge between the initiative and your local education authorities.

Programme Advisor

Contribute ideas and share feedback from your students and peers to help improve the Girls Go STEM programme. Provide insights into your national school system and STEM curriculum, helping ensure the programme aligns with local needs and integrates smoothly into teaching practices.

Marija, Teacher Ambassador from Serbia:

“Overall, I would describe my experience as an extraordinary opportunity that opened new doors to Europe, international collaboration, and a network of remarkable women. It has been one of the most positive and inspiring professional experiences of my career.”
